National Library & Archives (NA) — UAE

UAE

National Archives Citizen Access Portal with Secure Onboarding & Request Management. ATS built a secure, two-portal architecture (public-facing External Portal and staff-facing Internal Portal) on Liferay DXP 7.3.

The challenge

Why this project mattered

The UAE National Library and Archives needed a citizen-facing portal allowing public users, researchers, and students to register, submit archive access requests, and track request statuses digitally — replacing a manual, in-person process that created queues and limited accessibility to national heritage records.

What we built

The delivery

ATS built a secure, two-portal architecture (public-facing External Portal and staff-facing Internal Portal) on Liferay DXP 7.3. Custom modules powered Send/Request Invitation workflows, multi-step request access flows, profile management, and mobile number verification. REST and SOAP APIs integrated with backend archival systems, while custom email templates with branded notifications were implemented throughout the user journey.
