Why this project mattered
MILVIK AB required a digital healthcare consultation platform allowing patients to book and attend medical consultations via video call, audio call, messaging, or in-person — with an intelligent queue management system to route bookings to available doctors in real time. Managing complex consultation scheduling across multiple channels and doctor availability windows was the core engineering challenge.

ATS built a Liferay 7.1-based consultation platform with Open Firewall-powered video calling, a Central Priority Queue System managing consultation booking across all channels (video/audio/chat/in-person), custom doctor module portlets, and Elasticsearch for rapid doctor and specialty search. Custom hooks (pre-login, post-login, logout expiry) and expando table-based custom fields delivered a deeply personalised patient experience.
